Every Client Has Their Own Unique Needs.
Check out our Guidebook below to walk through our process.
Overview: The process of De-Cluttering can be daunting and overwhelming. At DCP, we have created a
system that works, ultimately to provide the clients with piece of mind and freedom from chaotic
nonfunctional environments. This guidebook helps our clients understand our process and why we take
these steps.
1. Assessment
The First step is to conduct an initial consultation to understand your ideas, your needs, and your lifestyle.
We will assess your priorities and values considering your family dynamics, work habits, hobbies, and
health needs. We will also identify the work that needs to be done including any areas that might be
problematic in your life. After our first visit we will give you a good idea of how we can help, how much
time it will take and how much it will cost.
2. Mission
Next we will create a set of goals to achieve and a mission for each specific space you are organizing. Our
specific objectives will be aligned with our assessment of your needs. We will ask you how you want each
space to make you feel and function. We will use this mission as a guiding framework throughout the
process to ensure each organizational decision supports you needs and goals.
3. Sorting
Sorting is always the most tedious and difficult task of the job. It will require the most time and effort to
accomplish. When sorting it is very important to be thorough and logical. We like to collaborate with our
clients during this process so that they are in control and decide what happens with their own belongings.
We will work with you every step of the way and try our best to help you make decisions that will
ultimately guide you to success. We will likely have advise or recommendations but we will respect the
decisions our clients make in the end. We encourage our clients to consider the value of a clean functional
space over the value of each individual item. The reason this job can be so difficult is because we need to
categorize each item individual item in your space. This can be very time consuming and mentally
draining but that is why we are here. After the sorting process you will have the opportunity to revisit
each category and make a final decision as to what happens with your belongings. We will have our main
sorting categories but there are always exceptions. For example you might want to give an item to a friend
or relative so that item will be set aside in a category all on its own.
Sorting Categroies:
Items You Will Keep: This includes Items that brings you Value that you will keep in your space.
Items You Will Donate or Sell: This includes items that no longer have any value to you. We will encourage our clients to part with items so they ultimately will have less clutter. A clear mind will surely bring value to our clients lives.
Items that You will Consider Donating/ Selling: This category will test the client to really consider whether they want to keep things in their space. We will revisit this category at the end of the job to reconsider the value of each item.
4. Inventory
After sorting your items we can begin by taking an inventory of each category to align our next plan of
action with our initial mission. We will start to draw up storage plans and thinking of systems to create a
lasting effect.
5. Functional Systems
Based on your needs and goals, we develop functional storage and organizational systems that are
customized and tailored to you. This might include investing in storage bins or outsourcing work to design
storage systems like building shelves.
6. Maintenance
During our functional systems process we try to avoid complex, difficult-to-maintain systems that will
frustrate the client long term. We try to recommend the best storage solutions that are easy for the client to
maintain. We want you to feel like we put everything where it belongs so the system in place will provide
lasting results.
7. Reflect & Adjust
After a period of time, we would like to check in with you to see how you are feeling about your
organized space. We would like to know if the space continues to meet your needs or if any adjustments
are necessary. Perhaps you have new items or changed routines that require adjustments. We would like to
ensure the space continues to function optimally and meet your evolving needs.
8. Ongoing Collaboration
We like to provide continued support and encouragement to our clients, reinforcing that we are there to
help if you need further assistance or updates. We offering follow-up services that allow you to evolve
your organizing skills or apply the principles of organization to other areas of your lives.
Final Outcome:
By following these steps, DCP aims to create not just organized spaces, but sanctuaries that foster
balance, clarity, and freedom. Each step is designed to transform the client’s environment into one that
supports their unique needs and aspirations, allowing them to thrive personally and professionally. We
hope that our services will allow our clients to focus on important things in their life like doing the things
that they love or spending time with friends and family.
